Ae Shin smiled, and said of course. She asks what she has to do first, and he says they need to introduce each other, and she gladly does so. She introduced herself as Go Ae Shin, and she referred to him as Eugene Choi. He then corrected her as “Choi Eugene.” Then, he says the next step is to shake hands. She again gladly does so,then asks when they let go. He then explains she can let go when she trusts him to not have a weapon in his hands.

Later at the Glory Hotel, Eugene walks past Hui Sung struggling with his room key, and the same thing happens to Eugene’s. Hui Sung suspects the keys must have been switched. Eugene’s annoyance caught Hui Sung’s eye, and he asked if it was his father or grandfather that led Eugene into hating Hui Sung, and Eugene replied saying that he didn’t like Hui Sung from the start. Hui Sung smiles in relief, and Eugene asks how he’s so jolly all the time. Hui Sung claims he is not like this all the time, and he then asked who his oppressor was- his father or grandfather. Eugene finds the question offensive and tells him to find it out on his own by asking his parents himself, and shuts the door with Hui Sung’s key on the floor.

Downstairs at the hotel, Hina talked to herself at the front desk. She wondered when Eugene would come downstairs due to the problem of the keys, when the bell on her main entrance rang. She looks up to greet the new coming person, when she finds out who he is. It was Wan=ik, referred also as Rinoie. Her smile fades away quickly and asks what he’s doing here. He simply looks around and says that he needed a room to stay in, the finest of all. As he tries to walk in, Hina stops him. She claims that this hotel is welcome to everyone, even stray crap dogs. But only one person is forbidden. Rinoie. He was in shock of how dare someone forbid him to stay somewhere, and Hina kindly and patiently asked Rinoie to leave.

Later in her room, Dong Mae was drinking coffee next to her. She asks what type of relationship Hina and Wan ik are in, and she claims that he is her father. She said that she stole her own mother, her childhood, and her own name. Dong Mae asks what her real name was, and she responds with “Lee Yang Hwa.” Soon, Dong Mae said he needed to go eat out with Wan ik, and was going to make his way right now.

In the Japanese restaurant, Wan ik and Dong Mae were discussing the bank document (The document Eugene got from Sumi), and Wan ik asked if they had found it yet. Dong Mae claims they have not, and if they found it they would immediately notify Wan ik. But Wan ik doesn’t like the sound of a very important document just rotting somewhere because it’s worth too much.

Dong Mae asks what would happen if the document was in Wan ik’s hands, and Wan ik explains that the emperor of Joseon shall never sleep peacefully again. Then Wan-ik belittles him by ordering the eternal butcher to just find the document.

The mention of Dong Mae’s butcher roots annoys and infuriates Dong Mae, and his eyes morphed into laughter to bloodthirsty. He slams his drink on the table and warns Wan ik to not speak about it

Ever AGAIN, unless Wan ik also didn’t want to sleep peacefully. He then left, leaving Wan ik in shock and anger.

At the Japanese Legation, Hayashi (Japanese Ambassador) disciplined Tsuda and Yamada. Hayashia demanded to know who started a riot that could have caused a war outside the American Legation, and Yamada opened his mouth and claimed it was Tsuda. Tsuda did not hold back, and accepted his fate. He rips open his uniform and gets ready to stab himself, and just as he thought Hayashi would kill him, Hayashi instead sliced Yamada.

Hayashi put back his knife and said, “People who just use their mouth to tell on people are useless anyway.” He said. He threatened that if Tsuda did that one more time, he would be dead too. He ordered him to clean up the mess, and Tsuda did so.

Late at night, Ae Shin studies English with Nam Jung, and she claims she knows everything in her latest studies. They start on the letter “L” And Nam Jung claims her favorite is the word “Love.” Ae Shin recognizes the word. She said she’s been doing Love for a few days now.

Nam Jung seems jealous that Ae Shin is already doing love with her fiance, and Ae Shin says she’s doing it with someone else. She claims she found the perfect person. Nam Jung gets shocked, and she tells Ae Shin that it was dangerous for her to have love rather than her fiance. Ae Shin seems confused, so Nam Jung explains what love means in Korean, and Ae Shin suddenly freezes. She starts to panic, and in a split second of silence, she yells “WHAT?!” She panics and picks up the “Love” card. She puts it down, and yells once more “WHAT?!”
Later in her room, she thinks frantically about what Eugene’s intentions were. She thinks that Eugene was trying to ruin her, and she sends a letter to Eugene that a servant delivers.

Eugene tries to read the letter, but Domi points out that he’s holding it upside down. Eugene tells him to mind his own business, but he still struggles to read it, and Domi says, “We have a secret together! You can’t read Korean!” Eugene feels embarrassed, and he dismisses Domi.

At the Glory Hotel, a worker, Gwi Dan, was right in front of Gu Dong Mae, and she tried to use Hina’s advice, to not cry but use your weapons. Gwi Dan was given a task to find the bank document from Gu Dong Mae. Gwi Dan informs Dong Mae that she found nothing in Eugene’s room but an envelope, and she said she hasn’t opened it so it didn’t seem suspicious. Dong Mae leaned forward and said it better be what he’s looking for, because he didn’t want to make a certain woman cry.

Dong Mae knocked on Eugene’s door and said room searching started today. His gang started to search his room, while Dong Mae stared at Eugene.

Eugene notices a lot of his stuff was falling onto the floor, and he says to Dong Mae “Your teammates are very untidy.” Dong Mae says he knows, and said that they weren’t very trained well.

Yoojo comes out with an envelope in his hand, and says it was the only thing they could find. Eugene admits he hasn’t opened it either and that it was personal, and Dong Mae reads it aloud for him. “There has been a change of plans for an agreement we decided to do. Do not ignore me.” Dong Mae slowly folded it and gave it back to Eugene.

That night, Eugene tries to read Ae Shin’s letter, and then he’s attacked by Ae Shin. she asks to meet him at the medicine shop where they first met. He agrees, and when they meet, Ae Shin asks why he never translated the word “Love” to her.

Eugene suspects out that Ae Shin now knows the meaning of love, and she warns him that she just might kill him. Eugene points out that she was the one who made the offer, and Ae Shin got offended. She snatched the gun that was in Eugene’s pocket and pointed it at him. He puts his hands up, and Ae Shin demands she answers the continuing questions she’s going to ask.

She asked why he was trying to ruin Joseon, and she clarifies that he was trying to ruin a specific person, but he admitted he just ended up ruining himself.

Meanwhile, Tsuda was hanging out in an Japanese restaurant, and found a group of geishas at one table. He heads over there and lays his hand on So-a’s head. (So-a was an undercover geisha that works for the Righteous Army, and helped Ae Shin’s assassination when she assassinated Logan.

He asks where she’s from, and she responds (in Japanese of course) that she doesn’t specifically know WHERE, but she came to Joseon to make money. Tsuda also says he’s here to earn money, and takes a drink. He asks how many beans she’ll eat this year, because in Japan there was a tradition to eat beans.

She explains she likes beans a lot and she’ll eat about a hundred. Tsuda looks up at her and finds out this wasn’t a Japanese woman, but rather a Joseon woman. He grabs her by the hair and drags her out into the town. Tsuda started to shoot at whoever would come out to So-a’s defense, and the shooting interrupted Ae Shin and Eugene’s argument.

Ae Shin looks out the window and recognizes So-a as the girl who helped her assassination, and Tsuda as the guy who pointed the gun at her on the train.
She explains to Eugene she’d be borrowing his gun, but he claims there’s only 5 bullets in that gun, but Ae Shin explains she needs only two.

She makes her way outside and first shoots the streetlight, and then shoots Tsuda. The shooting that happened caused Tsuda to go insane, and get loose of So-a. So-a scrambles away, and Tsuda insanely starts shooting everywhere. He couldn’t see the person who shot him because the lights were out.

As he insanely kept shooting and wasting his bullets, Eugene snatches the gun from Ae Shins hand and shoots his own arm. He came out into the light, and Tsuda screamed, asking if he shot him. Eugene explains that it doesn’t matter who shot him, but that Tsuda just shot an American Soldier.

Later on, Hayashi and Kyle were summoned by the king, ordered to answer questions about the shooting incident with Tsuda and Eugene. After arguing for a while, they ended up in conclusion that Tsuda was going to be killed.

Eugene meets Kyle outside, and Kyle looks at his arm and says “I’m going to kill the bastard who shot you.”

At the Glory Hotel, Eugene and Hui-Sung cross paths, and Hui-Sung asks if Eugene was the one in the Japanese Soldier Case. However, Eugene is really tired and annoyed, turns around and points out that this is the first time he saw Hui-Sungs unsmiling face, which actually makes it more easier to believe that he’s a nobleman’s son. Dong-mae listens in on this tense conversation and joins the two. He wonders if his words became seeds for reality: change leads to misfortune and avoidance leads to bloodshed. Dong-mae wonders if next time, he should just tell Eugene to die instead of taking care, since it could once again become seeds for reality.

Eugene feels like he’s being ganged up on, and Dong-mae vaguely explains that he feels like he’s been cut in line, even though he’s never had anything to begin with. Hee-sung glances at him with a surprised look as Dong-mae continues with a warning to Eugene to just linger around as the American soldier and do no more. Dong-mae no longer cares about what document he holds because he already holds something too great.

Hee-sung intervenes and says that he’s grasped why they’re so angry. He asks if the person by their side is the same person by his side. This person isn’t here now, but she’s been with them from the beginning. That person is Ae-shin.

Ae-shin waits at the medicine shop and thinks back to Eugene’s intervention to face the Japanese soldier. She hears someone approaching and looks at the door expectantly.

Hee-sung tells the two men that this person had better not be his fiancée, because he doesn’t want to have to hold any bad intentions. At least not yet, he says.
